I Remember Forgetting That

1 John 1:9: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

A student in the GFA School of Discipleship reminded me through a recent blog post of what sometimes happen after we ask God to forgive us.  From the blog:

...often we go before God and ask Him “How can You love me when I have done this sin?”  ...God just looks at us and says “Why are you bringing that up again?  I distinctly remember forgetting that.”
I worked with this discipleship program for over 4 years and even though I don't get to be there in person any more, I love to read about what the students are learning.  You can read more student reflections for yourself here: http://disciple365.org/.

But praise God we don't have to be in a discipleship program for God to be teaching us!  What has God been teaching you recently?

Last week of S of D

It's the last week of the School of Discipleship year. Jes and Cas graduate on Friday, head home on Saturday, and then start their support raising to come on staff. It's been a busy last two weeks, but the pressure has been off a little bit this week since I'll be staying here at the same address for another three weeks before I have the annual-dorinda-move-a-thon. So...I don't have to have all of my stuff packed this week.

Thanks for all your prayers - PLEASE keep praying for us as we finish this week. All of us are tired. We have evaluations this week, GFA Christmas party, S of D graduation, final house cleaning, final Bible study. Cas is tying up work details so her coordinator can know where the projects are after she leaves. Jes is swamped as her department is sorting and processing all the Christmas Catalog forms.

Pray that our hearts and words and attitudes would reflect Christ's love to each other and the people around us.

Operation Sleep

We leave from the office tomorrow morning at 7am to help with Operation Care Dallas -- assisting in sharing Christ's love with thousands of homeless people. It should be an exciting (and stretching) day. I think we're scheduled to be a part of the evangelism team. You can pray for our hearts and the hearts of the people we'll be working with. We want to share Christ's love in very deliberate and tangible ways - ministering both physically and spiritually. I really need the Holy Spirit working through me.

Right now Operation Sleep is starting. I'm having a hard time holding back the troops.

GFA School of Discipleship

Quick note. The Road to Reality Intership is changing names, so I'll be referencing things a little differently on the blog.

Road to Reality Internship --> GFA School of Discipleship
Intern Discipleship Team/IDT --> Discipleship Team
interns --> students

Yes, I still work with the program. Yes, I still have two students living with me. They graduate from the one year program in December. Please pray for us to end the year well!
