Talk about Real Life

Okay - so about 30 minutes after I typed the previous post, I wandered by the office's break room to get a drink of water.  The visiting missionaries were chatting with some of my friends and another couple that I didn't know.  My friends drew me into the conversation with, "Dorinda, have you been introduced?  These people are from Kansas."

A short conversation later found the visiting couple to be Martin Burnham's parents from Rose Hill, Kansas (about an hour and a half from my home).  I was excited!  Martin's parents had spent years in the Philippines as missionaries (and had worked with my friends there).  It was neat to be able to join them in conversation for a few minutes and then pray with them as they left the office and started on their return trip to Kansas.

It always seems to make my world a little smaller when I meet people I've only read about.  Definitely like!

Hi Maddie! You sent me a facebook message, but FB wouldn't allow me to reply to you or add you as a friend. :( And I'm sad you don't have comments turned on for your blog. :( Been praying for you as you're on the road this trip. I'll try to track down your email address tomorrow. I think I know where I might have a copy...
