I was reading today about encouragement when I came across the following excerpt: "...it is not the absence of difficulties or the absence of problems that makes the difference. It is the presence of the Lord."

The writer referenced II Corinthians where Paul talks throughout the book about his many challenges, but underlying all of his struggles is II Corinthians 4:1. "...as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart."

I had supper this evening with T&L and their young son. It wasn't planned, but it was a good evening of fellowship. Eli, their two year old son, was learning to speak Spanish. "Hola, Auntie Dorinda!"
