Off to Virginia

I just finished signing my Christmas cards and I'm all packed to fly out tomorrow morning to Virginia. (I think my suitcase is overweight. I'm debating which will be the first item to go... my hairdryer? hot hollers? winter coat?) My Kansas family drove out to my older sister's home in Virginia and arrived there this afternoon. We'll enjoy Christmas together and then prepare for my older sister's wedding on Saturday the 30th. (You're welcome to stop by His, Hers, and Theirs blogs for more information. )

I was reminded again this morning during our morning prayer and worship time of the reason Christ came to earth. His work was just beginning--leading to redemption through the cross. And He has left the Comforter with us -- the Holy Spirit to seal us, guide us, and make us more into the image of Christ. I praise God that He's doing the work through me. I sure mess up enough on my own.

On a lighter note, we signed the rental lease for the house where I'll be living with the Road to Reality interns starting January 27th. Praise God! Pray for the landlord and repairman as we have submitted a list of repairs that are needed. :)

Anybody want a water buffalo?

We just finished up a Gift Entry work party.

Gift Entry? you ask. Don't you usually work with the computers?

Yes, but so many people have responded to Gospel for Asia's Christmas Catalog that the people in our Gift Entry department have been putting in extra hours to get everything caught up. Several of us from different departments have been helping in the evenings as we can.

It was so fun to be part of opening the envelopes this evening and find people who were sponsoring a missionary or purchasing Gospel tracts as a Christmas gift to their friends and loved ones. Others purchased chickens, pigs, or goats to help Indian Dalit families.

Check it out - anybody want a water buffalo?

I'm moving again...

The Thanksgiving holiday was wonderful - visiting my family up in Kansas. One of our interns came with me since she was unable to go home for Thanksgiving. We drove the tractor, walked to the pasture pond, enjoyed Anthony's Christmas shopping, played the longest-ever game of Pente, worshipped with my home church, and made mints for my sister's wedding. And loved on Grandma.

And guess what? I'll be moving again in January. We have a new class of Road to Reality interns starting in January and I'll be living with them as their intern discipleship team member. Don't worry, my PO Box will still work great for those cards, letters, and care packages. :)

Praise! for God's direction in the internship.
Pray! for us to find the right house for the girls and me to live in. We looked at one yesterday and will potentially look at one on Monday.
Pray! that I get your newsletters sent out soon!!!
